Biography

Rafael Castillo, known as De La Ghetto, was born on September 17th, 1982 in New York City, to a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother. At an early age, he moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and grew up there.

In 2004, he started a duo with singer Arcangel (real name Austin Santos), and they made their debut with the song “Pégate”. Two years later, he and Arcangel went separate ways and both started what would become very successful solo careers.

He released his first studio album, "Masacre Musical", in 2009, which contained the hits "Tu Te Imaginas" and "Es Dificil".

His second one, "Geezy Boyz: The Album", came in 2013, and produced the hits "Ahi Ahi Ahi", "Mirala" ft. Zion and Farruko, "Relajate Conmigo" ft. Arcangel, "Otra Vida" ft. Cosculluela, "Hablame De Ticket". Shortly after, he signed to Warner Music.

During his career, he's also collaborated with Ozuna, Anuel AA, Nicky Jam, Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel, Ñengo Flow, among others.
